Bill Alexander Dark To Light

Before the world knew Bill Alexander as the Happy Painter, he had lived through enough darkness to become anything but.

Poverty. War. Imprisonment. Loss. Beginning again in a country where he had almost nothing.

Yet the man the world came to know was filled with joy, generosity, and an extraordinary belief in people.

Few knew what Bill had lived through—or how those experiences shaped the man he became.

For more than a decade, Laurie Anderson shared Bill's work, travels, stories, and trust. Before he died, he asked her to carry his legacy forward.

Now she shares the story behind the joy, the faith, and the man millions came to love.

A story that reaches beyond painting. Beyond fame. Beyond Bill himself.

And leaves us with one question:

After everything life had taken from Bill Alexander, how did he still have so much to give?
